Letter N Crow

Letter N  The CROW

This whole project is all about NATURE.
The nature that is around us...
The nature that is within us all..
The nature of life and all living things...

So I had to add my feelings about the crow..
It is a magnificent bird... full of NATURE in all ways..
a little like all of us...
So I painted this picture of the crow...
on a vintage dictionary page...
I used colored pencils to color him...

Okay... story time.. but it is the truth..

I had won a wonderful gift of $15 gift certificate at the Kraft Journal...
and I had fun picking out all the wonderful things I received...
well... one of the things I choose, was the vintage dictionary pages... when I got them... which was two days after I started to work on this project... guess what page was included in it..

THIS ONE... the CROW...
OMG... how amazing is that???/

so thanks Kraft Journal for this page...

Speaking of which a few of the challenges that I have missed, since I started to work on this project are also in here.. one being no printed paper.. this whole project has been made with white paper, and also black cardstock... with a few sheets of cardboard...  which are by the way KRAFT COLORED...

Oh did you see that little trap door... well this particular crow is guarding that with his life... until dark...  that is..

anyway... when open...
A JOUNEY...  oh yes... this is a journey for me...  and I have to say as this is coming to an end for me...  it has been a true journey and I have learned so very many fun and interesting things...

Now when you open the page with the crow on it... this is what you see...

The name of my studio is the
PURPLE DRAGONFLY STUDIO...
because on the first day we were on our farm...
I was sitting outside and a huge 5" wing span dragonfly
came and landed on the post near where I was sitting... it was all shimmery... and low and behold.. it looked purple to me...
(purple happened to be my favorite color at the time... )

So this page is dedicated to the
PURPLE DRAGONFLY....
Thanks...

One of my favorite classes to teach is the Tea Bag Folding
I love this new one that Penny sent to me... thanks Penny... as always you are a dear friend and I thank you so very much..

Another thing on this page is that I shaded all the textured paste harlequins...  Hels Sheridan of Sunday Stamper wanted shading... I have done it a couple of other times in here also...
I have been doing this challenge for a long time.. and there is another story further on in the pages...  thanks Hels for all the challenges and fun...

In the fall around here... and I think on most of the east coast of the USA there are these cute little purple flowers... when you see them... you know that fall is on the way... they are all over the roadsides and the fields...  they are smaller than a dime and grow in clusters all over the place...  I happen to love them... as they grow.....  not in a bouquet or anything special... just as NATURE means for them...  wild and pretty...

My East meets West medallion... this has 10 squares of 1.5 inches folded all the same and then glued together to create this medallion...  it happens to be one of my many favorites...
and I love it...  I made this one out of the vintage dictionary page...

So there you have the page of the CROW...
Go back to main blog...
