The Letter R Flower and Butterflies

The Letter R with a flower and butterflies...

wow... I really had fun with this section...
wait until you see it...

This section  is so jammed packed with things that I had to put the band across it to hold it all in.. and also fasten it with Velcro...
The paper was paper I had in my stash that I made quite a while ago... I used a die cut of Tim's and used the plastic sheet to make the stencil of the butterfly... love doing that...  when you buy a die cut, there are many ways to use it... and you have to get your money's worth from it... this is just another way of extending that...

The flower... I cut some orange paper... that I made of course with orange inks...  and then used the poinsettia die... and one of my leaves for this flower...

I usually will put a more elaborate center into the flower... but this flower was going to get a little squashed for the that...  this is a THICK page...

When you open the band you will see this CROW, landing on the letters...

While I was making this entire project in art...  I used life time things that I saw and experienced...

My husband and I were sitting eating lunch... and all of a sudden we saw all these
BEAUTIFUL BIRDS
start landing on the Dogwood tree out side our windows...
the dogwoods leaves are starting to turn a very pretty pink and green color...
but the berries are ripe and
they are a deep RED...
so the birds are attracted to them..
Well these birds that started to feed were
Black Headed Grosbeak...
and they were BEAUTIFUL...

We had the Black headed ones and also the rose breasted ones... and the golden ones... they are migrating to South American where they will winter...

Oh we had them here for 4 days... they were so very wonderful to watch... they didn't eat all the berries... so we are wondering who will be next...

We have watched the squirrels... and the grosbeaks... now who????

These pictures of them are sort of what they looked like, but the colors of the breasts were different... some were golden, some rose colored, some deep reds... and then we had some that were rust...

But I had made this paper prior to seeing the birds that day... and didn't know if I was going to use it or not... but low and behold... again it happened... I got to use it...

I was playing around with the craypas... (oil crayons) and was just drawing all over papers... (white cardstock)
Then I would pick up a spray bottle of ink and shimmer added ... and spray the drawing of craypas...

this is one of them...  The craypas act as a relief... love it...
have you done it... try it... it is really a fun thing... kids love it too..

Making background papers is a favorite past time of mine...
waiting for something to dry will promote me to make a lot of papers..  and then I use some.. .and some...

Well they go into the use later pile...
it grows on a daily basis... but they are used...

Another Lunch time thing that Glenn and I did...
We tried to name all the trees on the farm or in the area that lost their leaves...
This is what we came up with... a lot of them.. huh???

We have a lot of fruit trees... but also a lot of deciduous ones too...
Of course because we live in Western NC... we have a lot of PINE...

Okay...
I love birds.. as I guess you can tell..
Crows put up with them.. but are not really 'friend's' with them...
but I wanted to add them to my nature box...

On this cover... I put a piece of bark... that Casey brought to me...
and also put it over some textured paste leaves... and then added some clip art birds...

I love all the texture going on here...

When you open the cover piece (above)
you will see this accordion folder... all made with the vintage dictionary pages I got from Kraft Journal...  LOVE IT...
They are all folded and then glued together to form this handy little file system...

Okay... I didn't get real elaborate with these... but I made a few ATC's to go into the sections...

Here is an example of how I used it... it is really an easy stamp and looks great with just a few outline lines to jazz it up... how easy...

Below are the other cards... and like I said... they were quickies to put into here... but I did use all different background techniques on them... and they did take me about 6 hours to make...

I used stamps that I hadn't ever used... and some old ones that were good friends...
Used clip art that I love...
Rub on stickers...
leaf stamps... etc etc... just had a fun time of it...
