I have a lot of things that I wanted to do.. and one of them was to make charms for pages... for tags, for noteworthy areas... and do I pursued that with this page...
I had more fun with this page...
I got into areas that I hadn't been in before.. .
I got into areas that I hadn't been in before.. .
and then revisited some old ones too..
Mr. Crow has just landed on this leaf.. and he is really pretty happy with himself... little birds and crows generally don't get along... but there is nothing say that they can't... or won't ... maybe this one will make friends with the birds on the leaf...
Small plastic letters tucked into the laces..
A close up of Mr. Crow...
Added wings with popping them for dimension...
a half pearl for their eyes...
Okay... the back Ground..
I try and literally make things as easy as I can.. for myself..
I cut a piece of burlap that we bought at Joann's (cheap) and cut it the size of the page... which by the way these pages are 6 X 8 inches... I used masking tape to hold it onto the cardstock... nothing special... as I knew that I was backing each and every page with cardboards... and then putting it onto the black cardstock.. which is also sturdy...
Then I used Gesso and put it into the areas I thought I wanted it... this was a hit and miss operation... I just do things...
I HAD to let it DRY!!!!
UGH...
DOUBLE UGH...
I choose a stencil... Tim Holtz Graphic was the one that was in my hands first... and the texture paste ... I also use texture paste from the hardware store... less expensive... and also about the same... holds the color and also dries quicker and also bubbles really GREAT with heated with the heat gun...
Using a technique from my dear friend Pamellia Johnson I put the embossing powder onto the WET texture Paste and heat it up... yikes... it is delightful... quick and fun and looks great...
AND I didn't have to wait for it to DRY... YEAH
lucky me.
I heated it again and again... and kept on putting as much Embossing powder onto it as it would take...
I then used these three distress paints to color the areas I wanted to show a little more color...
as you can see... very little paint... and I did it with a sponge applicator from my blending tool... great things...
my finished maple leaf
I took a piece of copper wire... bent it to follow a die cut of a maple leaf... what better pattern... and then laid it flat on the table... making sure it was a flat as I could get it... I hammered it a little bit and let out some energy... feels good to do that...
Then I laid it on top of a piece of glassey kraft paper... ??? not really sure of what that is called.. ???
and glued it using my glossy Accents... I love that stuff for gluing... it holds things that are hard to hold... it does it quickly and holds...
then I filled in the entire leaf with it too..
and finally trimmed off the excess edges on the outer part of the leaf...
I use to make all kinds of Dream Catchers... sold many 100's of them over the years... from 12" ones... to tiny ones like this one... which is only about 1.5 inches in diameter... I used silver (.99% silver thread ) to weave the web... and then added the gem stones... real turquoise and then some pony beads and glass beads of stone..
The little bird is moon stone... so great for women...
I put a piece of canvas behind it so you can see it better...
My Dream for you... and wish in life is that you live it in peace and loving ways all the time...
