I wanted to try a few new things here... and so I had fun with this page... totally fun...
I took a piece of muslin and covered a piece of cardstock... nothing fancy... just for the texture of the page...
Then I started to have fun...
I wanted to try a couple of things...
First off... I traced the inner circle of the die cut from, which I rusted... and then I painted the center area with black acrylic...
I generally dont' like to wait as things dry... but I did... I started on some other areas for this page... you will see them in a minute...
anyway... after the black dried.. .I added some WHITE cotton yarn... (left over from socks that I make for my hubby...) and I twilled it and twisted it... and then painted it with copper... and added some turquoise to sort of tarnish it...
Prior to the painting of the turquoise...
My crow is sitting... so his wings are down... and so is his tail...
When I was doing this page... our dogwood tree started to turn red...it is now almost all red... each branch has tons of red berries on them... the squirrel's and the birds eat them all day long... until they are all gone... we love to watch the nature that partakes of this wonderful pretty tree all year long...
I did use a leaf stamp here... and colored the white paper with a place peach... and then used pickled raspberry for the top stamping... LOVE that PR...
If you know what these are... I hope you will realize how excited I got... I was covering the paper with muslin... and was thinking about what I was going to do on this page... and all of a sudden...
POW ZOOM...
it hit me..
YO YO's...
but ones that I totally make... OMgoodness.. what a fun time I am going to have with this page and this whole project... I was dancing around the studio...
I have to add... that was not a pretty site...
LOL.. but I was so very excited...
I also started to realize that I wanted my crows to be more dynamic in this project... so I started to cut each one out...
more time...
more energy
but I hope well worth it...
I also puffed out the wing with a little piece of foam... love it...
Added a little bit of copper and turq to the metal leaf...
OKAY...
now for some more fun...
I took the muslin.. and used my mini misters that are filled with all kinds of colors, ready to be used... and they also have perfect pearls in them.. so they will glitter too...
and I cut some circles... and then spritzed them with the inks...
when this project is finished I am going to start on my quilt that I am in the process of making... each square is 22 inches and it is created with inks, paints etc... and I will share them with you as I progress thru it... as I have to get it finished prior to the winter cold coming here... (think it has already hit here...??? )
so I had fun...
Inking,
making a mess...
and having some fun circles...
oh yes... to make YO YO's with..
Oh yes... and to stamp on them too...
What fun is that...
This page is never going to be washed... so I don't have to worry about that... and the colors are perfect.. and they all sort of glimmer and have a glitziness to them.. I love them..
I sewed around the edges and made the yo yo's and then glued them onto the page... totally awesome in all ways...
Another fun day... to say the least...
